Suspicious bookcase and I forget the other utility land to make jarad unblockable. Cabal stronghold is a slower but less pricey cabal coffers that can pay off late game. Final parting is good but buried alive and jarads orders are lower cmc. Remove all the stuff in the pump category, jarad will get pumped with his ability using More self mill (altar of dementia, maybe? Satyr wayfinder, commune with the gods type effects) and more targeted recursion (bala ged recovery, animate dead, reanimate, eternal witness). Jarad, like many EDH decks, is very linear and can get easily shafted by the hate cards printed for 60-card, competitive formats. Or just switch to another deck for a little while. Consider running something like ] if the graveyard hate gets out of hand. ![]() This isn't easy in B/G, because you don't have the stack interaction of Blue or Red. You're also going to want some means of protecting your graveyard. Sacrifice outlets are great, but generally the best ones are artifacts, particularly the Altars (Ashnod's, Dementia, and Phyrexian). ] is a great card in that it play triple duty with Jarad it mills, it's a creature, and you can cash it in for a regrowth effect. Self-mill is good, but getting it on creatures is even better. For non-creatures, I'm particularly fond of ], even if it is a 5-mana do-nothing card is fun at casual tables. Recursion and Tutoring should be attached to critters as well, unless it is extremely powerful stuff like ]/] or ] are great examples of both, respectively. ![]() Similarly, Sakura Tribe Elder is far preferable to something like Rampant Growth or Cultivate. So one mana elves become even better than they already are. ![]() One of the big tricks with Jarad is to replace as many non-creature spells with similar creatures to keep your graveyard stock with dudes.
